An intermediate zone for laptops and everyday tasks at arm’s length.

Photochromic lenses respond to outdoor UV light and lighten indoors.

THE TWO TECHNOLOGIES THAT CHANGE YOUR DAY

Different distances. Changing light. One pair.

Progressive lenses change the reading power across the lens. Photochromic lenses change their tint with outdoor UV exposure. Here is what each one does for your day.

Progressive lens zones, photochromic light response and lightweight frame explained
01 / PROGRESSIVE

Progressive: more than one reading zone.

Read through the lower zone, use the middle for screen-distance tasks, and look through the upper zone to view your surroundings. Move your gaze and head to use the appropriate zone.

LOOK AROUNDSCREENREAD

Lower zone · Books, menus, and your phone.

02 / PHOTOCHROMIC

Photochromic: tint that responds to light.

Inside, the lenses lighten for reading and everyday tasks. Outside, UV exposure activates a darker tint. Return indoors and they gradually lighten again.

Indoors · Lenses gradually lighten.

Diagrams illustrate lens zones and tint; they are not optical measurements. Ready-made readers do not replace prescribed distance correction. Tint varies with UV exposure and temperature and may change less behind a windshield.

HOW IT WORKS

One frame, three daily moments.

Progressive reading zones and light-responsive lenses bring more of your day into one pair.

01 / READING

Your next chapter.

Books, menus, and messages. Use the lower reading zone for the things you like to keep close.

02 / SCREEN

Your everyday connections.

Emails, video calls, and afternoon projects. Explore the intermediate zone for tasks at arm’s length.

03 / OUTDOORS

Your time in the sun.

Step outside and let outdoor UV light activate the lens tint. Return indoors and the lenses gradually lighten.

Progressive readers require an adjustment period. Lens tint varies with UV exposure and temperature; images illustrate everyday use.

FIT & STRENGTH GUIDE

Not sure where to begin?

A good choice starts with your reading strength, your daily routine, and a frame that feels right.

Ready-made readers are not a substitute for an eye exam or individualized prescription correction.

Start with your reading power

Check the strength on your current readers. If you are unsure, ask an eye-care professional rather than choosing by age alone.

Think about your daily routine

Mostly reading and screens? Explore progressive readers. Mostly time outdoors? Explore polarized sunglasses.

Check the frame fit

Compare the frame measurements on the product page with a pair you already find comfortable.

HOW TO PICK YOUR MAGNIFICATION

Start with the strength you know.

Already wear reading glasses? Use their marked reading power as a starting point, then check the options on the product page.

+1.00 to +1.50Already comfortable at this reading power? Start by comparing the same power.
+1.75 to +2.50Use the marked power on readers that work for you, rather than choosing by age.
+2.75 and aboveIf this is your established reading power, check the matching available options.
Not sure / first pairAsk an eye-care professional to confirm the right strength before you choose.

Age alone cannot determine your reading power. If you do not know your strength, need different powers in each eye, or use a prescription, ask an eye-care professional. Select from the strengths currently offered on the product page.

PRODUCT DETAILS, EXPLAINED

The details make the difference.

The right lens for the right need

Progressive readers are for reading and intermediate tasks. Polarized sunglasses are for outdoor glare. Check the features of your selected style.

Light response, with context

Photochromic tint depends on UV exposure and temperature. It may respond less behind a car windshield; no fixed transition time is promised.

A few things worth knowing.

Are these custom prescription glasses?

Our ready-made readers are not custom prescription eyewear. Check each product page for its available strengths and lens type. They do not correct every vision need or replace an individualized prescription.

What does “3-in-1” mean?

For our featured progressive photochromic readers, it refers to close-up reading, intermediate tasks, and lenses that respond to outdoor UV light. Features vary by style. It does not mean automatic magnification or universal prescription correction.

How do I choose my reading strength?

Start with the strength on readers that already work for you. Check the product’s available options and frame measurements. If you are unsure of your strength or your needs differ between eyes, ask an eye-care professional.

Will photochromic lenses darken in a car?

Many car windshields block some of the UV light that activates photochromic lenses, so the tint may change less than it does outdoors. Response also varies with temperature and UV exposure.

Are the Day-Night Sunglasses reading glasses?

No. Our Day-Night Polarized Photochromic Sunglasses are non-prescription sunglasses for outdoor use, not progressive readers. Tinted lenses do not improve vision in darkness; do not use them when they reduce visibility.
